THE PUNTING MONOLOGUE - LISTEN

THE FORECAST: WHEN WINTER IS SPRING (SORT OF)

THE FORECAST: WHEN WINTER IS SPRING (SORT OF)

Have a look at the weather forecast for the next week – in Melbourne anyway. it’s fair dinkum polar. If I see a couple penguins and some elk wandering down the street or some Jamaicans in a bobsled next week on a morning run, I won’t be surprised.

Stay safe out there punters. Anything could happen.

At Caulfield the outlook is polar but there’s a suggestion of spring on the menu; it might be wafer-thin but it’s a meeting to take notice of.

Have a look at the first two races. Blake Shinn and Phil Stokes reckon I AM VELVET might be a stakes class horse, but Shinn is booked to ride very smart debut winner DOM for Lindsay Park, a horse that will be given his chance to climb the ladder. A must watch contest. I’m hoping DOM gets the dollars just like this version.

Roll onto race two where ALDOLFITO, AZEEZLE, BAND OF BROTHERS, NDOLA and WAITING FOR TIME all run for a crack at the Vain Stakes and McNeil Stakes early in the new season, they have to get past COMANCHE MISS though and she jumped out like an absolute machine recently. Add an in-form Mick Dee and trainer Stokes and it’s a perfect recipe. I’m keen.

But we’re not done yet. The fifth on the card sees the very smart KUNDALINI and the untapped AMOURSIRRA tackle some race fit rivals. The Quezette Stakes could be on the cards if either filly makes a statement first-up and Amoursirra turned in two very sexy jump outs, while my Cranbourne track spy says Kundalini’s work has him speaking in tongues, here’s proof.

Translation “Kundalini all day punters, stay warm and stay MINT.”
