THE PUNTING MONOLOGUE - LISTEN

THE WEEKEND WRAP – Show the Bling – Ben Clifton

Weekend Wrap

A bit of a lull before the good horses are back but still plenty of horses to follow from this weekend’s racing.

Star Performer of the week

Caulfield Race 3 – won by Manolo Bling

Date: 06/07/24

Race Overview – 2yo’s not normally my go but this race has rated really well. Went out quick and still got home well for the class. Should be a formline to follow in the next few weeks.

  • Manolo Bling – Nice market support late and didn’t disappoint. Really good debut rating and looks a promising filly.

Highlight Races from the Weekend

Doomben Race 3 – won by Invincible Shield.

Date: 13/07/24

Race Overview – Small field but they scooted home really well here.

  • Invincible Shield – We have highlighted this horse previously in this column. Keeps rising to the occasion and running time. Stakes horse.
  • Pre Eminence – Chased hard. Coming winner.

Date: 11/7/24

Hawkesbury Race 1 – won by Yorkshire

Why: Margins, time, style, sectionals. Some horse this.

Horses to Follow from the race:

  • Yorkshire – Gee whiz. 4 lengths x 4 lengths. Good ‘orse.
  • Zousain Bolt – Big SP but market won’t miss this race. Follow.
  • Captain Eagle – Started favourite. Happy to forgive given how well the race has rated.
