The Quokka Preview

The inaugural Quokka and what a race we have in store for us here. Will it be the locals to claim the 4-million-dollar prize or will the eastern raiders claim the prize? Here’s my best runners for The Quokka.

Amelia’s Jewel is the class horse of the race with arguably the most upside. Was massive when winning the Roma Cup first up rises in distance here. Has never been beaten over this track and trip and although has drawn the car park she will get back in the field and have plenty of backs to follow into the race. Will be using her explosive turn of foot and should be running over the top of these.

Red Can Man was good behind Amelia’s Jewel last start and third up looks ready to tackle this assignment. Has placed six times over this track and trip and from barrier 11 will be rolling forward and making his own luck on the speed. With luck is the main danger but is a genuine each way chance.

Uncommon James has been ultra consistent in Group 1 grade and has never been out of the placings over this distance. Ben Thompson has a terrific association with this horse winning 4 from 4 on him. Will roll forward from that wide draw and with a lot of speed predicted inside will need some luck to find a good spot however, class will take him a long way and should be figuring in the finish. Place chance.

Trix Of The Trade has drawn for the run of the race and is a very handy type. Hasn’t failed over this trip and has a perfect first up record. Will be on the rails doing minimum work and will be in it for a long way. Genuine place chance.

Kementari has a good first up record and has won at this track in the past. Placed 10 times over the trip in the past and will benefit from a genuinely ran race. Will be running on late through the line and is a good one for the exotics.

Bella Nipotina has been ultra consistent in Group 1 grade and draws well here to be just behind the speed. Is a distance specialist and will be weaving her way through late to be in the finish. Genuine claims but others represent better value.
