Well punters if you thought last week’s effort of 4 winners returning 32% profit was handy, then you’d be cock-a-hoop with Mocca’s 5 winners at 55% profit this week.

The gambler from Galway got us off to a flyer with winners from the first bet on both Thursday (Lakeview Emily $6) and Satdy (Excavation $2.40) night’s cards – and of course he brought it home with another blast in the last at Sandown as Lyrical Lassie thrilled the late night punters at $5.

The winners kept coming and the prices were juicy, with Patch You Later providing a very easy watch followers in the middle of the Sandown card at the value $3.50 for Mocca followers.  Finally Zulu Blast was TOUGH at The Meadows to hold off stern challengers in the first of the stayers’ heats.

ZULU BLAST was tough for Mocca’s Mail followers winning the stayers heat at The Meadows

A look ahead to the Sandgroper

With the huge announcement that BIG ENERGY will race in the MintBet slot for a crack at the $600k in prizemoney on offer in the Western Trilogy greys feature April 18th, a keen eye was cast on the potential opposition competing in the Australia Cup heats at the Meadows.

First up was TABtouch’s runner Morton who conquered all before him in Queensland, and he only needed a hint of early room to rev away from them to a 6 length win in his heat.  Sandgroper prices will have tightened after this performance and possibly more to come in the final.
Explicit has been installed as early Sandgroper favourite following his G1 triumph in the Temlee, and began a $1.40 shot in his heat – but drama is never far away in these big Group 1s.  After beginning only moderately the star had the leader’s back before clearly suffering an issue, found to be a back strain which will see him stood down for at least 7 days.  This game can change as quickly as its star participants can sprint.

Connections of MORTON  are all smiles after his demolition job in the Aus Cup Heats.

EARLY SANDGROPER – SLOT HOLDER PRICES

Explicit (Punters HQ)     $3

Morton (TABtouch)        $4

Big Energy (MintBet)     $5.5
